In September 1999, the GDP-WASH had it first art exhibition to illustrate the enigmatic and impressive “Magical Colors of the Caribbean”. Then, in August 2000, we journeyed even deeper into the memory of the Caribbean colors as expressed by four brilliant Dominican female artists: Janet Quevedo , Amaya Salazar , Luz Severino and Rosa Tavarez . Their art represents the changing, mysterious and sensual features of the Caribbean art. Therefore, the GDP-WASH was proud to present their art in the prestigious Art Museum of the Americas at the Organization of American States. We are grateful to the OAS General Secretary, Mr. Cesar Gaviria; the former Dominican Ambassador to the OAS, Mr. Flavio Dario Espinal and his wife Mrs. Minerva del Risco; Ms. Olga Escanon; Mr. Dionisio Blanco and all the persons and institutions that one way or another contribute to this event.
